Liverpool will play friendlies one day after Premier League debut

Liverpool will play a friendly the day after their Premier League opener against Fulham on the first weekend of August, says Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, adding his players need more Prepare for a busy schedule for the season 2022-23.
Liverpool face Manchester United, Crystal Palace, RB Leipzig and Salzburg in pre-season before facing Manchester City at the King Power Stadium in Leicester this Saturday (30).

The Premier League debut will take place on August 6, with a friendly against Strasbourg, from France, at Anfield, the following day.
Klopp says Liverpool will play another friendly against as yet unnamed opponents the following day to prepare the players for the new season, which is longer than usual due to the World Cup in Qatar in November and December.
“The situation is that [Saturday] is a very important game, but we still have to prepare for a season, so we cannot ignore that,” Klopp told reporters on Thursday. “We played Salzburg last night and lost 1-0.
